A recent mobile survey conducted by Prosper Mobile Insights™ included 326 smartphone and tablet users from the SSI Panel who completed the survey on their devices. The survey was collected from 7/18 – 7/23/12. 166 respondents were male while 160 were female, and the average age of the sample was 47. Margin of error is 5.4%. The analysis reveals that the majority of Mobile Users prefer accessing Google, Facebook and their email inboxes using a smartphone or tablet rather than a computer. This poses a challenge to advertisers and retailers whose mobile shoppers are opting for smaller screens, on-the-go access to information and generally fewer advertisements.
