A recent mobile survey conducted by Prosper Mobile Insights™ included 341 smartphone and tablet users from the SSI Panel who completed the survey on their devices. The survey was collected from 2/27 – 3/2/12. 173 respondents were male while 168 were female, and the average age of the sample was 46. Margin of error is 5.3%. The analysis reveals that Pinterest is a growing social media site, especially popular with women. Many Mobile Users aware of the site say it is addicting and a useful organizational tool, but few say Pinterest influences their purchase decisions. General Internet searches are the top way to look up product information.
